Jung Sungha in UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia (4th Dec 2011)

Sixteen year old Jung Sungha is no ordinary Korea boy. He is the fingertip guitar prodigy of our generation and an amazing on at that.

He is a polite scrawny kid with a sweet smile and killer mad guitar skills. Some people are just born talented and Sungha happened to be one of them.

 He arrived in Malaysia at 9.00AM and had little time to go site seeing as he had to practice for his two shows in UCSI University. The first show was at 5pm – 6pm and then it was the signing session for his CDs and T-shirts. Some people brought their own guitars and ukulele for Sungha to sign. Finally the 1^st session ended shortly after 7pm and it was time to wait for the 2^nd show to begin at 8pm.

At 7.45pm the doors of the Recital Hall opened to people to be seated. UCSI University’s recital hall has never been filled so quickly. It was a full house and was filled in record time. Audiences ranged from little children to the elderly were nicely seated at their designated seats and soon after 8pm, the emcee stepped on stage and introduced the talented Jung Sungha and the crowd went wild.

 People would think after performing so many times at countless of stages Jung Sungha would sound more used to the atmosphere. But no. As he stepped onto the Recital Hall’s stage, Sungha dressed in a black blazer over a white T in skinny jeans and red sneakers sounded as timid as he usually is in his youtube videos politely bowed and introduced himself.

Throughout the whole almost 1 and a half hour seesion, Sungha played a total of 12 sets of songs. 9 sets of songs by guitar and 3 sets of songs by ukulele and the audience could see that he had fun with it. It was originally 10 songs but the crowd and the emcee begged for two more and Sungha, although tired, happily agreed.

At 9.30pm, the Recital hall emptied and everyone with a CD, T-shirt or an instrument packed the classroom outside for Sungha’s 2^nd autograph session. Tired as he may seem, he granted all his fans wishes to take a picture with him and left everyone wanting more of his amazing guitar skills.

We hope that Sungha enjoyed his first time in Malaysia and will come back in the near future.
