Internship

This has been a very tiring week.
And it's gonna continue for the next 40-45 days.

I'm doing my first internship now.
It's an event company in Kota Damansara.
One week ago, i was minding my own business thinking about plans before November starts.

When should me and my friends go up to Genting?
Which hotel should we stay in, should we stay for 2D1N OR 3D2N?
Do we wanna buy cup noodles and eat outside just to see the steam from the noodles?

OR

Should we go to Broga Hill and Genting next time?
How the hell are we gonna get there?
Wanna go eat dimsum after that?

All was good until i received a phone call from an unknown number.

It was 20-10-10.
"Hello may I speak to Carina? Im calling about your internship and i have a job offer for you. Can you go to Kota Damansara tomorrow at 10.30am for the interview?"
More was said but this is what i remembered.
I didn't know what to say and just said "OK" and when i hung up i finally thought,
"Where the fuck is Kota Damansara?"

21-10-10
The next day, I carpooled with three more friends of mine who luckily for me got the same job offer.
We got lost on the way. Damn Damansara roads. We got there on time and went in together. The interviewer was a quiet but pushy lady.
"Can you all start work tomorrow? Can you call more friends to work here?"
All four of us didn't really had a chance to think it through and we gave in and said OK.
We went home and i rushed to go buy formal clothes~

22-10-10
We sat in the Federal Highway jam for over an hour.
We reached the office and got separated to different departments.
My department was supposed to be the busies because they were in the mist of preparation of their event. But all i did for the past week were just petty but troublesome little jobs.

I didn't like my department at first but after a week there i think i can make it through for 2 months. They were really in need for low paid interns to do their troublesome work.We could have start in November 1st but then we'll finish at Dec 31st. We didn't wanna spend Christmas working. So we started on the 22nd October and will end on the 22nd or 24th Dec.

And me and my friends have already plan what to do. On our last day of work, we're going to eat a Japanese buffet and celebrate our 1st Christmas together since Genting didn't make it. Damn we got so excited after planning all of this and our internship had only just started.

Delicious BBQ Wings, Dogs & Bacons

My BBQ pit finally served it's purpose on the 17th of October 2010 when my high school friends and i threw a small BBQ party. Throwing a BBQ party wasn't that hard. All you have to do is just get a venue, set a date, ready a BBQ pit, skewers and charcoal, food & drinks and call some friends.

As you saw in the pictures
We had obviously chicken wings or it won't be a BBQ...
i washed & marinated all 24 wings and i felt damn proud of myself. There were bacon, sausages, corn, watermelon and toasted bread with garlic butter spread and honey.

But before we started the BBQ,
My friend opened a table and we just sat and played UNO cards. I really can't remember when was the last time i played UNO cards. After UNO was "cho dai di" then finally the BBQ fire was strong enough we put our cards aside for some delicious chicken wings marinated with salt & pepper and some black pepper sauce and later brushed with sweet honey on the BBQ grill. The bacons were easy. Just pop it on to the grill and let it be. All the fatty oil dripping into the fire and smoke smelt like bacon.

Lucky we had a Boy Scout with us.
Thanks Mun Hong.
We would have smoked the whole neighborhood if we did it alone.

We ate, talked, joked, ate somemore, talked somemore and joked somemore.
Finally we decided to pay '9ma' a visit since she ffk-ed us.
We packed some wings and bacon for her and walked up hill from our place to her house. But to our efforts went to waste because she wasn't feeling well that night. We walked back to PF's house. We played more card games and whoever lost have to each a watermelon because there were still a lot of it left.

I left about 11pm because i was kinda wanna go for my other friend's house's BBQ in Sg Long. Not to eat of course. But when i got into my car and started to drive, i kept going to the side. I panicked for a second because i thought the slope i parked my car at earlier messed up my car's tires and screwed up the alignment. So I went home instead and to find out that it wasn't the alignment that caused me to kept going sideways.

It was because of this.
Do You See THAT !!???
A bloody FLAT made me missed out on the juicy fun in Sg. Long.
Don't get me wrong though, my own BBQ party was fun but i wanted to be there because me and my college friends never really had a party together before. So now whenever any of them mentions about the party i missed i'd show them my ScareBear face... XD

Twilight is BACK !!!

I thought it was time to restart my little Twilight-updating-whatever-you-wanna-call-it thing again.

It looks like Breaking Dawn is gonna be kicking into production gear real soon because
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have already arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana.

As i have learned from my Mass Communication class, pre-production is the part where the scripts are written, checked, edited, checked and whatever. Then casting comes into place, who's playing who, who's cuter, who's chubbier. And locations for the shooting of the movie or scene or part. I'm pretty sure there's more to do in pre-production but i can't recall about it.

Speaking of casting,
Many were wondering how Renesmee, half breed vampire/human child of Edward & Bella, is gonna be cast because let's face it. If there WERE a child like that in reality, she'll be locked up in a windowless room or be so spoilt that she'll grow up to be worse than Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton and whoever-trouble-making-famous-princess all put together.

*********
I just realized i went out of my objective of this topic
*********

Meet Mckenzie Foy, age 9.
She has appeared in TV series Flash Forward and Till' Death once and it looks like she'll be THE most remembered child actress of the decade.

Alright, so the crucial question now is,
HOW does director Bill Condon plans to film a child who goes through a growth spurt from a little infant to a child in just 3-4 months?

Well luckily we have Benjamin Button to thank for this.

"Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too." - Entertainment Weekly’s Hollywood Insider

Well i can't say much about Rob and Mckenzie but WOW is she the like the splitting image of Kristen. With this the Cullen family is completed. And casting for the other characters are also done but i'm kinda lazy to stretch this post to show who's playing who. I'll do it in my next post.

Beard Papa's, Yummy Cream Puffs !!!

This is a famous pastry shop that was founded by Yuji Hiroka from Osaka, Japan in 1999.
Yuji Hiroka's probably the bearded old man in the picture.
Beard Papa's is known for their trademark cream puffs with vanilla custard filling.

A lot of my friends always tell me that their cream puffs are to die for.
*not in those exact words*
The nearest and only Beard Papa's to my house is all the way in Mid Valley and i always forget to stop by every time i'm there. So yesterday i finally remembered about it when i was there.

Original Vanilla
Made according to our carefully thought out vanilla custard recipe from Osaka, Japan, this flavour has proven to be the most popular and hotselling.

 Coronet
Our very special version of aromatic French bread filled with our signature vanilla custard. Something which would make a French food connoisseur come back for more!

 Fondant Chocolate
A single serving of chocolate cake made with the finest Belgian chocolate. To fully enjoy the delicious, oozing chocolate center, be sure to warm it up before serving!

The puffs are baked first with a hollow center.
They only fill in the filling when there's an order otherwise the cream will get the puffs soggy~
They poke the puffs to this machine you see in the picture and pumps the custard cream in.
There's vanilla, chocolate, black sesame, green tea, mango yogurt ice cream flavors for the filling. But in MidValley i only noticed vanilla and chocolate.

I bought 3 for myself.
2 vanilla and 1 chocolate.
It's kinda pricey because for the regular cream puff it's RM3.80 each.
If you buy the coronet or the ring shape puff it's RM4.90 each.
But the taste is worth it if you're not stingy.
The custard filling still stays cool even after an hour without putting it in the fridge.

The "Waterfall" in All of Us

I always saw myself as the strong type of girl.
It feels strange...
Calling myself a girl when I'm 20.
Calling myself a women will be stranger.
When i was little i always wanted to be a boy.
And growing up with two brothers just made me jealous of them.
So i was a tomboy until somewhere around primary school.

I thought to myself that,

If i ever fall down and scrap my knee i would not cry.
Get on my school bus and wipe the blood off.
And i did.

If i ever get lost i would not cry. *If I'm in a familiar place*
Remember my way back home or where i originally came from.
And i did.

If i ever feel sad i would not cry.
Don't let anyone see you cry, not even to family.
And i did.

If i ever watch a tragic movie i would not cry...
Well that worked until i watched "One Liter of Tears" when i was 15.
My tear glands were over flowing like a monsoon rain.
I blame puberty on that.

I guess from that moment on, activating my tear glands became very easy.
If i watch a show with really sad background songs, tears.
If i watch a show with no sounds but sad scenes, tears.
If i see someone crying, i feel bad and, tears.
If i get scared and don't know what to do, tears.
If i get very angry about something, tears.

I guess females can't help it.
We're just wired this way.
To be all emotional when it gets too much.
I learned to change the subject whenever i feel the topic's getting too personal.
Jokes are the first thing that comes to mind.
If that doesn't work then i think of a lie to cover up the sad stuffs and make it seem alright.
If even lies doesn't work then running away is my last resort before the tears arrive in full wave.

**********

I feel so exposed now...
But once in awhile i like to type out these kind of stuffs.
I might have repeated what i said in a few dozen blogs ago.
Sometimes i like to think that i have my own personal therapy session in my head.
One mind debating on what was right and wrong, should or shouldn't, could or couldn't, would or wouldn't.
I just like to keep personal stuffs very much to myself.

You gotta watch 'Legend of the Guardians' ~

When i first knew about this movie,
I had absolutely NO interest in watching it !!
I kinda "Judged the Movie by its Characters" when I watched the trailer and saw all birds inside and thought, "How can a movie with BIRDS be interesting???"

And then last week i kinda accidentally had to watch this movie because the movie my friend and i originally wanted to watch was unavailable yet (Alpha and Omega).
I was like "Oh man...hello birdies~"
And the 3/4 empty cinema was not helping at all.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of the Ga'hoole
My synopsis of the movie (no plagiarizing),

Soren and Kludd are young owlets who grew up listening to stories of The Guardians told by their father. Soren in particular was immersed in the stories but Kludd was more of a realist who didn't believe in it.  Both Soren and Kludd were practicing how to fly in the tree of their nest one day when their parents were out hunting. They fell to the ground and got "birdnapped" by two fierce looking owls. They were brought to Metalbeak's lair along with many other owlets who were birdnapped.

Metalbeak is the actual bad owl from the stories of The Guardians. He got defeated by the legendary warrior, Lyze of Kiel and now he wears a mask to cover the scar he received.

The owlets were birdnapped there to be trained to be soldiers for Metalbeak. Kludd denies to be Soren's brother when he was asked and so Soren and his new friend, Gylfie were sent away to be "pickers" while Kludd is to be trained as a soldier. Soren and Gylfie eventually escapes Metalbeak's lair with the help of Grimble.

*******

This is getting to be very long winded.
OK !!! Long version SHORT !!!

*******

Soren meets more new friends and together they set of to find the guardians. Instead of finding the guardians, the guardians found them and they were brought to the tree of Ga'Hoole. Soren tells the guardians what happened. They receive training to be guardians while other guardians fly off to battle with Metalbeak before they get attacked. But the guardians have a traitor among them. Soren finds out and he flies to rescue them.

A fierce battle takes place and Soren reunites with his brother Kludd. They fight. Kludd breaks his wing and is thrown into the fire. Soren then goes to find Metalbeak for a fight. He emerges victorious and the bad owls retreat. Everyone returns to the tree of Ga'Hoole where Soren and his friends gets pronounce as Young Guardians of Ga'Hoole. But towards the ending we see Kludd emerging from the flames with glowing red eyes and he sees Metalbeaks body and his mask.

Soren reunites with his Mum, Dad and little sister Eglantine in Ga'Hoole.

 Soren (Left) & Kludd (right)
You obviously can tell whose good and bad by their faces.

I, was so into the movie !!!
The effects of the owls flying was like WOW !!!
It felt like watching in 3D !!!
I bet 3D will be even AWESOME because you'll see the claws coming slashing out of the screen like SWOOSH right in front of your face. And the slow motion part is very very VERY COOL !!! Seeing the claws slowly stretching out and the wings flapping...the details of it all are so DETAILED !!! And last but not least...I WANTED TO SQUEEZE THE OWLS !!! They look so fluffy and soft and CUTE !!!

Remember, DON'T judge a book by its cover.
You HAVE to watch this and just in case,
Here's the trailer of it.

The song for this is called "Kings and Queens" by 30 Seconds to Mars.
